My paintings are rooted in a lifelong relationship with the landscape. As a child, I was most at home scrambling through the woods, camping beneath the stars, and gathering wildflowers along sunlit paths. Those early experiences continue to shape my practice, informing layered textured paintings that move between abstract energy and representational clarity. I create, what I call, a dawning vision, an abstraction resolving into place. These are places brought to life through imagination, memory, and emotion. I want my colorist landscapes to be visibly and unapologetically paintings: tactile, expressive works that invite people to pause and spend time with them. Ultimately, these works offer a quiet invitation to reconnect with the natural world as well as enjoy moments of joy and peace. I share my view of the landscape not as an escape from the world, but as a reminder of what can be found within it and ourselves.
