My art is community based. This piece is en plein air. Being on location painting I am forced to respond and connect to the environment and community around me. This challenge opens eyes to many unique characteristics of the whole. I taught art in the K-12 public school system for 21 years. My experience created a deep connection to the community. I currently create artwork that speaks to the needs of the community specifically focused on education.
