For a long time I felt that good art needed to look as realistic as possible. I'd spend hours on a piece meticulously attempting to capture every aspect of a scene. It wasn't until I took an history class in college and learned about how art and artist evolved due to the introduction of photography, that I realized art is more that just replicating what we see. Instead of focusing on recreating a true-to-life image through traditional methods, I use photography and digital techniques to manipulate images into something surreal or fantastic.
