This impressionistic painting features one the numerous Bird of Paradise flowers I saw during a visit to San Diego. While painting, I listened to the music of jazz saxophonist Charlie ‘Bird’ Parker, who was known for his ‘Bird of Paradise’ song. The fast tempos, harmonies and riffs seemed to inspire my brush strokes and bright colors.
