JAMIE GERAGOSIAN'S The Ripple Effect

“The Ripple Effect” began as a small plein air study sketched from my kayak on Creve Coeur Lake, where I paused to watch sunlight dance across the center of a single expanding ripple I created with my paddle. I was captivated by the way light fractured, shimmered, and briefly reshaped the surface of the water. As with all my work, I seek out the perfect vantage point, then sketch on location and gather reference photos to later recreate not just what I saw, but what I felt in that moment. This painting reflects that pursuit of a quiet, fleeting interaction between light, water, and emotion.
