At the beginning of 2026, after many years working as an architectural photographer, I started asking myself, “What if?” David Hockney’s photographic joiners were an early starting point for those questions. I was fascinated by the idea that a photograph didn’t have to describe a place from one viewpoint or capture only one moment in time. What if I combined different views? What if I allowed time to overlap? What if I stopped worrying about what a photograph was supposed to look like and simply followed where the image took me? I began bringing together things I had noticed while moving through a place—architecture, people, light, reflections, atmosphere, and small discoveries—sometimes layering different viewpoints and moments until they became a single world. Lately, I’ve become just as interested in where the next “what if?” might take me and in giving myself permission to just be.

Printed and Framed by Bullivant Gallery, each framed piece is 38 x 28" and 10lbs. Frame 1.25" Spoleto Silver, 3" Mat. Submission image shows the complete diptych above with enlarged details of each panel.
