Completed exhibitions feel like the inner chamber of an ancient temple or like the VIP area of a wonderful, forgotten disco.  With painting, each work has a lush, velvety appearance and echoes a fragmented, dreamy experience. There are repeated hints of out-of-place opulence.  This is the antithesis of my commercial work; it is handled and not mass-produced. The loving specificity may result in a siren’s song that only calls to some in the audience, leaving others out of its void of commercialization. There is magic brewing from my toil and propensity for over-the-top. Using the obsession with classical studies found in art history, I marry scavenged visual remnants to serve a curiosity surrounding narrative mysteries. My work seeks to resuscitate a curiosity towards melding old and the NOW within others and to salvage our secret hopes, fears, and dreams.  It should be a visual earworm that resuscitates a buried obsession.
