This series of black-and-white film images isolates the tin can, an object embodying both necessity and excess. Arranged in a repetitive grid, the circular openings suggest cells in a system or eyes staring back, while diagonal lids peel open like gestures of exposure, revealing contents suspended between nourishment and decay. Reduced to abstraction, some cans are recognizable, others ambiguous, leaving the viewer suspended between certainty and speculation. This uncanniness transforms common objects into symbols of uncertainty, highlighting how processed food is both essential and alien, something we depend on yet readily discard. The minimalist repetition of form speaks to mass production: uniform, efficient, stripped of individuality. In its starkness, the work blurs the line between documentation and critique, inviting reflection on consumption, preservation, and the hidden costs of overproduction.
