“Consort is a painting of my two cats and studio companions. They are both black cats, even though I painted them blue here. While they have very different personalities, their appearance is quite similar. I like to think about not only their relationship with me, but their relationship with one another. I like to imagine how their individual personalities, quirks, energy levels, and tolerance of one another form the foundation of their relationship.”
