f'aura féminine // the female aura. Nothing quite inspires me like the female form and the captivating aura they emit. All unique and unable to be replicated; all one of a kind with a distinct energy only they posses. Trying to capture this is what inspires my drawings and is the focus of this series and is my ode to that breathtaking female presence Drawing my whole life; charcoal has always been my greatest love affair and my choice of medium. There's just something about the richest blacks it creates that then contrasts so beautifully with the white of paper. It allows me to render the soft curves of flesh, the finest of details, and my favorite: the movement in hair. In my hyperrealistic portraits I also utilize negative space of the form and garment. I hope that through my portraits it creates a sense of appreciation for these women, what aura they emit, and the uniqueness that only they possess. (Drawings are 2 out of my series of 10.)
