Collage artist and painter, Amela Cikota, was born in Prijedor, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She earned her BFA in Art Education with an emphasis in drawing from the University of Missouri-St. Louis in 2017. It was at that time that she started making her abstract landscapes through painting and collage. She is inspired by nature and the hunt to find nontraditional materials. She is constantly searching for new materials to incorporate in her collages, especially items that have a technology embedded in them such as, player piano paper, computer punched tape and cards, voice recording tape, LED strips, stamps, and architectural floor plans that she created when she was in architecture school. She combines these with very natural papers to create the connection between technology and nature on one surface. She currently works full time as a high school ceramics teacher and is a resident artist at the Soulard Art Gallery.

ALL ARTWORK CURRENTLY ON EXHIBIT IN THE TWELFTH BIANNUAL EXHIBITION WILL STAY ON DISPLAY AFTER PURCHASE UNTIL October 30th 2025. Some exceptions on case-by-case basis. Shipping rates subject to change based on location and are the responsibility of the buyer. All sales are final.
