All my work is oil paint on canvas or hardboard. I’ve been called a traditional American realist. Most of my subjects are taken of everyday happenings. There are great works by others that capture extraordinary events but the vast majority of our life consists of more mundane experiences. My philosophy says that if you proclaim to love life, then you must also love the parts most would consider less than newsworthy. I try to capture a sense of humanness or humanity that I see in the course of a normal day. I hope I’ve been able to explain a bit of my thought process so that it may help with understanding my work.
