"The serving sets I create are a metaphor for social cohesion. They are presented in a series of arranged compositions comprising of porcelain teapots, ewers, decanters, and cups on bases. The arrangements convey my conceptual framework of community and the ever-present dialogue between the individual and the collective."
Intimate Vessels consists of two bodies of work. One is depicting decadence, with the dripping glaze on top of frosted porcelain vessels. They are presented on a tray made of black walnut and featured on the shelves of the east wall. The second body of work consists of three steles. A stele is an object from antiquity. Stelae were used as markers and to record important events. The three stelae in the Commonwealth area are markers to honor great memories.
